What you agree to in the app

Lift asks for each agreement at the moment it matters, and keeps a record of exactly which text you accepted.

When you sign up

You accept the User Agreement and the Privacy Policy, both readable in full from the sign-up screen.

Before you photograph your Ghana Card

A separate screen explains what the card is for, who sees it (only Lift staff who review identities), that the photos are deleted 90 days after the review, and that you can withdraw. You tick a box and type your first name to agree.

Before Lift uses your location

Your phone asks for permission, and the app says when location is used. Passengers are only ever asked while the app is in use. Drivers are also asked for location during a journey — from Start journey to Journey complete — after a screen explaining why.

If you drive

You confirm your licence, insurance and roadworthy are valid and that you'll keep them current, and type your first name.

Before your first token purchase

The token terms are summarised above the pay button: tokens are a Lift service credit, only Lift accepts them, and they never turn into cash.

Only if you choose

Helping improve Lift with usage information, and news and offers (at most one a week). Both are off until you switch them on, and you can switch them off at any time.

When something changes

If an agreement changes in a way that matters, the app shows what changed the next time you open it and asks you to accept before continuing.

How your acceptance is recorded

Tapping I accept on an account verified by a code to your phone is your electronic signature under the Electronic Transactions Act, 2008. Lift records the version, the time, the device and the exact text shown, and you can ask for a copy with your data.

Withdrawing

Switch optional ones off in the app at any time. To withdraw the others, delete your account: Lift can't verify you or run trips without them.
